Panattoni Europe for industrial automation
The developer will build a production facility with test and showroom spaces for Rockwell Automation – a global provider of solutions for the industry in the field of drive technology, control and software. The investment with an area of 11,300 sqm will be built on nearly 3-hectare site in Katowice. The manufacturing section with the warehouse will take over 9,000 sqm, and office space of over 2,200 sqm. The factory will produce industrial automation components, including coils, contactors and a new generation of circuit breakers. Production will take place on highly automated machines and devices, and the management of new production lines will be based on the latest technologies of Industry 4.0 area, including Rockwell Automation solutions from the FactoryTalk® family. The construction of the investment will start in April this year, and its finalization is scheduled for November 2019. The lease was signed for 15 years ahead.
The investment for Rockwell Automation is made in accordance with the guidelines of FM Global – an American insurance company that has its own research procedures and standards for the implementation of facilities that aim to reduce the risks associated with damage of the insured property, especially in the case of fire.
As Marek Foryński BTS Managing Director, Panattoni Europe comments: “Implementation of projects in accordance with FM Global is another proof of providing clients with the best quality products, corresponding not only with the needs of their business, but also with strict guidelines of important entities operating in the global real estate market.”
“We are pleased that the long-term cooperation of AXI IMMO with Rockwell Automotion at the Katowice project will be a modern production investment. The scope of our cooperation included comprehensive consultancy on the BTS project from securing the investment plot through a conceptual arrangement of the project to the transaction phase.” – comments Marek Kosielski, BTS Director at AXI IMMO.
A non-accidental location
The new investment will be built in Katowice and increases the production capacity of the current Rockwell Automation plant in Poland, which has been operating in Katowice for twelve years. The company also has a branch that develops and tests software for its own products located in this city. Katowice and Upper Silesia are one of the best-known locations for Panattoni Europe. The developer has currently over 440,000 sqm of space under construction in Upper Silesia.
