AXI IMMO advised Decathlon on the lease extension of over 32,000 square meters of warehouse space in SEGRO Park Gliwice, Einsteina.

SEGRO, a leading owner, developer, and manager of modern warehouse and industrial space, has renewed its lease agreement with Decathlon at SEGRO Park Gliwice, Einsteina. The facility, spanning over 32,000 sqm, has served the world’s largest sports retailer as a distribution hub since 2012. The lease transaction was facilitated by commercial real estate agency AXI IMMO.

Founded in 1976 in France, Decathlon is a global leader in the sports industry, operating over 1,700 stores in 72 countries and employing more than 100,000 people worldwide. The company’s mission is to make sports accessible to all, while promoting an active lifestyle and taking significant steps toward environmental responsibility—such as committing to reduce CO₂ emissions by 20% by 2026 and minimizing excess packaging.

Decathlon’s logistics hub in Gliwice remains in SEGRO Park.

Decathlon began its cooperation with SEGRO in Poland in 2011, initially operating out of SEGRO Logistics Park Gliwice, becoming one of the first tenants at that location. In 2012, the company moved into a tailor-made facility at SEGRO Park Gliwice, Einsteina. Today, the warehouse functions as one of Decathlon’s key logistics hubs, serving both brick-and-mortar stores and e-commerce customers across southern Poland and international markets. The site also includes a customer pickup point for retail buyers.

The 32,000 sqm facility was designed and built to meet Decathlon’s specific operational requirements, including bespoke features that support its logistics model. The building meets high-quality standards, and further upgrades are planned, including the installation of photovoltaic panels to enhance sustainability.

Maciej Badora, Operational Logistics Manager, Decathlon, commented:
“SEGRO Park Gliwice, Einsteina remains a key strategic location from which we’ve been serving markets in Poland and the Czech Republic for over a decade. Our partnership with SEGRO allows us to manage operations efficiently while aligning with our sustainability commitments through the use of environmentally responsible solutions. We are confident this collaboration will continue to evolve and open new growth opportunities in the future.”

Successful renegotiation between Decathlon and SEGRO with the support of AXI IMMO commercial real estate agency

Bartosz Michalski, Director, Logistics, Poland, SEGRO, added:
“We are proud that Decathlon, a global leader in the sports retail sector, continues to be one of our long-term partners. The lease extension is a strong testament to the quality of our facilities and our ability to meet the evolving needs of such a dynamic company. We are pleased to support Decathlon in their growth by providing a space that promotes both operational efficiency and sustainable development.”

Anna Głowacz, Head of Industrial & Logistics, AXI IMMO, commented:
“The renegotiation of Decathlon’s lease is a strong example of how long-term partnerships and operational continuity remain key priorities for tenants in today’s market. Clients are increasingly focusing on optimising their logistics chains while securing high-quality space in strategic locations.”
