Mecalit, a leading supplier of technical precision parts made of plastic, decide to sign a lease agreement for 10,500 sqm of warehouse space at the Central European Logistics Hub, an investment owned by Panattoni Europe. AXI IMMO was responsible for the comprehensive advisory services for the tenant.
Since the company was founded in 1984, Mecalit has developed into a leading supplier of technical precision parts made of plastic, including complete assemblies for home appliances, the automotive sector, medical technology and the electronics industry. The company’s clients include well-known producers from Poland, Europe, Asia and the United States. Mecalit Group currently employs approx. 800 people at three production plants in Bulgaria, Germany and Poland.
10,500 sq m In response to increased orders at Mecalit
“The increased demand for our components naturally led us to expand the company’s operations beyond the current production plant. The additional space will primarily serve as storage facilities. We decided to take such step, because we want to maintain high standards by increasing the capacity of production lines and timely fulfillment of contracts,” says Zygmunt Wita, Managing Director, Mecalit.
„The client was primarily looking for warehouse space to lease immediately. Currently, some of the operations are developed from a new warehouse. One of the main reasons to stay in the eastern part of Łódź in the Widzew district was a willingness to retain the current staff. This solution enables the transfer of employees and goods between both locations in a relatively short time. In addition, the investment of Panattoni in no way limits the possible expansion as part of the further development of Mecalit, which was very important to the client,” said Hubert Wojtera, Director, Industrial & Logistics, AXI IMMO.
